The Hamptons is a private development on a 60-acre brownfield site at the end of Green Lane, Worcester Park. Work started in 2002 and was completed around a decade later. Built by St James, part of the Berkeley Group, the Estate comprises 30-acres of housing and a 30-acre park and a wetlands nature reserve.

The 645 homes are constructed mostly in an American Neo-Colonial weatherboard style. The homes range from one or two-bedroom flats housed in New England-style barns or classical collonaded buildings to substantial 4 to 6-bedroom detached family houses and 3 or 4-bedroom terraces, most with verandas and balconies.
At their heart is Maple Lodge with its communal facilities, and 30 acres of landscaped parkland, called Mayflower Park. A peaceful haven in an otherwise urban part of Greater London, this includes a wetland nature reserve, fishing lakes, a boardwalk, coppices, a wildflower meadow, an amphitheatre, tennis courts and children’s playgrounds.
